Surprising Alleged Requirement Made By Kamala Harris' Campaign Revealed

Former Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 presidential campaign reportedly demanded that she only be seated in chairs that "met certain specifications," according to an excerpt from the new book FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes obtained by FOX News.

“Her team required that she be provided a chair that met certain specifications: ‘Leg height no less than 15 inches; floor to top of seat height no less than 18.9 inches; arms on chairs may not be very high, arms must fall at a natural height; chairs must be firm,” the book states.

The alleged specifications were made after Harris participated in her first media interview since taking over the Democratic ticket 40 days prior, joining her then-running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, for a joint interview with CNN's Dana Bash on August 29, 2024. Harris appeared to be lower than Walz when the two sat at a table, which led to the reported mandate.

“Sitting next to Walz in a chair that seemed to place her below him and heaping praise on Biden’s record, Harris did not look like a candidate seeking the highest office in the land,” the excerpt states. “The whole scene reinforced the criticism that the vice president was either incapable, or afraid, of answering tough questions on her own.”

Allen and Parnes acknowledged that "the question facing Harris was whether she could build a sturdy platform," rather than the chair placement in the book. The former vice president was thrust into the 2024 presidential election after President Joe Biden ended his campaign in July, quickly being named as the Democratic candidate just months before losing to President Donald Trump in November.

Harris has said little publicly about her 107-day campaign and was reportedly considering writing her own book, six sources with knowledge of internal discussions about her future confirmed to NBC News in January 15.
