Fox 8 meteorologist Zack Fredella says today is a First Alert Weather Day with a threat of tornadoes and severe weather.
"Gusty winds and high humidity are streaming out of the Gulf this morning. Expect the first half of today to be the quiet portion with the active weather beginning around noon," he wrote on FOX 8's website. "Through the afternoon into this evening residents are urged to monitor the weather closely. Storms will form rapidly and possibly go severe quickly after the lunch hour. Any storm today will be capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds and damaging hail."
