The launch of a SpaceX rocket, which will rescue two stranded astronauts from the International Space Station, went off successfully on Friday evening.
The mission was supposed to liftoff on Wednesday but was scrubbed due to hydraulic concerns. Liftoff happened around 6 pm central time, and has no issues reported. The Crew-10 will be heading to the ISS to relieve Buth Wilmore and Sunni Williams, who have been stuck there for nine months.
Originally, the two were supposed to be there one week. But their Boeing Starliner spacecraft returned without them after it was deemed unsafe.
The SpaceX rocket is scheduled to dock with the ISS on Saturday night around 11:30 pm. From there, they will bring back Williams and Wilmore, plus two other Russian cosmonauts.
They are expected to splashdown off the coast of Florida next week, the earliest return date being Wednesday.
