It's official. There will be no government shutdown after Democrats caved and followed minority leader Chuck Schumer by supporting the House Republican stopgap spending bill.
Following a procedural vote to pass the bill, Senators voted 54-46 to pass the House backed bill, which only needed 51 votes to be approved. Almost all Republicans backed the measure, with the exception of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.
It capped a long day for Schumer who was slammed by fellow Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi. Meanwhile the leftist mainstream media is melting down over the passage, framing it as Democrats "handing Trump the keys" after months of vowing not to.
