The Food and Drug Administration is issuing its recommendations for which flu shots to use this year.
Thursday's decision came without input from a panel of independent vaccine advisers after a February meeting was cancelled without explanation.
The FDA did however use its own experts working with the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Defense to review data from around the world about the type of flu viruses currently circulating.
The FDA says it anticipates there will be an adequate and diverse supply of approved trivalent seasonal influenza vaccines for the 2025-2026 flu season.
