A global aerospace propulsion company plans to break ground on a $70 million expansion project in Muskegon.
GE Aerospace says deliveries are expected to increase by 15 to 20 percent this year. It's part of a larger investment of nearly $1 billion dollars into GE's U.S. factories and supply chain.
According to GE Aerospace, the investment will go towards new machines, updated equipment and expanding the facility to support the production of parts for the hot section of the LEAP engine, used in narrowbody aircraft.
The Muskegon facility is also responsible for producing engine components used in widebody aircraft engines, as well as in military fighter jets and helicopter engines.
