Southwest Airlines rocked its customer base on Tuesday when it announced it will get rid of "Bags Fly Free" which has been a cornerstone of Southwest Airlines for many years. As the airline has made changes in recent years it stood by its free checked bags to differentiate itself from other airlines. Now, as it tries to become a more mainline airline with changing customer trends it is adding bag fees and as previously announced it's also implementing seat assignments, a more legroom upgrade area up front of planes, and it will limit its flight credits to be valid for one year. Investors loved the idea but customers are coming out angry saying Southwest is losing its appeal and they will just go on any other airline.
