Trump-Backed Bill To Avoid Government Shutdown Passes In The House

As promised, House Republicans passed the federal funding bill backed by president Donald Trump. Next up, the Senate must pass the bill by the end of the day on Friday to avoid a government shutdown.

The 6-month CR/Omnibus bill passed along party lines 217-213.

Now it's up to the Senate to move it to president Trump's desk. To do so, Republicans in the Senate will need 8 Democrats to vote with them.

The countdown is on to a possible showdown or shutdown, on Friday.
