(Des Moines, IA) -- All students at Harding Middle School in Des Moines will soon be eligible for an education savings account.
The Mid-Iowa Health Foundation is awarding the non-profit By Degrees Foundation $140 thousand dollars to expand its 529 Savings Account Program to every student at Harding Middle School. Initially, the program was only available to Harding students who attended Findley Elementary, but this new grant opens eligibility up to all students at Harding.
Funds in 529 Savings Plans can be used for education expenses including higher education, K-12 tuition, apprenticeships, and student loans.
