Houston Police say they have a suspect in custody after an Saturday shooting in the Greenspoint area in which no one was injured.
Officers were called about 9 am because of a disturbance at an apartment complex near Greens Road at Wayforest Drive, and as one officer walked toward an apartment to begin the investigation, a man came out and told the officer he didn't want to speak with police.
That officer later said he tried to talk with the man, who simply went back inside and came out with a shotgun and started firing.
When the officer shot back, the man ran inside the apartment, so the officer moved to his car to call for more officers to help at the Rockridge Station Apartments complex, then grabbed a rifle.
The man came out and fired again and the officer returned fire again, according to HPD's Captain Christopher Hassig.
Yet neither of the two was injured during the entire incident.
The man barricaded himself inside the apartment for a while, as Houston Police SWAT Team members arrived and started work, but the suspect then surrendered to the officers.
The Houston Police Homicide Division is working with investigators to determine charges against the man who shot at police.
