Gilda's LaughFest offers 'Seriously Funny' comedy - and for a good cause

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Gilda's LaughFest has gotten off to a rip-roaring start.

The 15th annual event began Wednesday night with an event at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

Local comedians Adam Degi and Bob Smiley brought what LaughFest said was some "seriously funny" stuff to the "Laughfest Night at the Museum."

The comedy festival runs through March 9th and will feature 45 free and ticketed shows in Grand Rapids, Lowell and at Gun Lake Casino in Wayland Township.

LaughFest is hosted by Gilda's Club Grand Rapids, a nonprofit group that provides emotional support for people with cancer and their families. The festival raises funds to support that.

Gilda's Club was founded in memory of original Saturday Night Live cast member Gilda Radner, who won an Emmy Award for her performances. The Detroit native died from ovarian cancer in 1989.

Comedian Bob Smiley - who's been tour for more than a quarter century - kept the crowd in stitched on March 5, 2025, during the opening night of Gilda's Laughfest.
