Ever feel like your brain is turning to mush after spending hours scrolling on social media? Well, you're not alone. The phenomenon, dubbed "brain rot," is a real thing. In fact, it was Oxford's 2024 word of the year, and the term has seen a 230% increase in usage over the last year. While it’s not an actual medical condition, experts say that spending too much time online can mess with your memory, decision-making, and overall mental health. Their advice? Pretty simple: Take breaks from social media. Instead, get some exercise, do a hobby you love, spend time in nature, etc.
