Smokey Robinson will release a new album next month, titled ‘What the World Needs Now.’Described by Robinson as his "inspiration" album, it features a mix of original compositions and covers of classic songs. Among the covers are Bill Withers' "Lean on Me," Louie Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," The Staple Singers' "I'll Take You There," and Carole King's "You've Got a Friend."
Robinson shared his thoughts on the album, saying, "I have always felt the presence of God in my life. Gratitude is key to a relationship with God. [My song] 'Be Thankful for What You’ve Got' stands out to me because it’s about gratitude." This sentiment is reflected in the album's uplifting and soulful tracks, which aim to inspire and bring comfort to listeners.
