Gen Z Has Embraced “Micro-Retirement”

Your college teachers might’ve called them “sabbaticals.” Today, Gen Z’ers are calling it “micro-retirement.” Fed up with the corporate day-to-day, they’re trying to achieve a better work/life balance by “stepping away from their jobs for extended breaks,” even though they’re decades away from what used to be considered “retirement age.” For those unfamiliar with that term, that’s the age when people used to be able to quit working and just live out their lives having fun in the sun. Since that’s not a likely scenario for many out there, you’ve got to give credit to the new generation for taking steps to no work themselves into the ground…and for taking time to enjoy their existence.
