ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Kent County Sheriff's deputies say they've taken into custody the suspect in a triple shooting early Saturday morning that left one woman dead and two others injured.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 4500 block of Tabor Road in Alpine Township. That is east of Alpine Avenue and north of Lamoreaux Road.
Sheriff's investigators said a neighbor reported hearing a loud, suspicious noise and requested a welfare check on a nearby residence. They said a second call then came in from a victim confirming the shooting. Sheriff's deputies and crews from other agencies responded.
Police said a woman between 50 and 60 years old was found dead at the scene. Two women, ages 30 and 36, suffered serious injuries. They were treated at the scene and taken to a hospital for treatment.
"Preliminary investigation indicates the incident began as a domestic dispute," the KCSO wrote in a news release.
Police said the suspect fled in a vehicle and described him as a Hispanic man in his 40s, and said his getaway vehicle was a dark green Dodge Ram pickup truck.
"The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached," the KCSO said in an initial news release.
Later, in a second news release, the sheriff's office said the suspect had been taken into custody shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, and no other suspects were being sought.
"The two victims who sustained serious injuries are now in stable condition," KCSO wrote. "The scene remains active as investigators continue processing evidence."
