FRESNO, Calif. – In front of a lively home crowd at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium, the Fresno State Diamond 'Dogs improved to 3-2 on the season with a commanding 7-4 victory over the winless Cal State Fullerton Titans (0-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State set the tone early, scoring two runs in the first inning thanks to a single from Cayden Munster.
The Titans briefly took the lead in the third inning when Marcos Rosales launched a three-run homer to left field, but the Bulldogs quickly responded with an RBI single by Lee Trevino to tie the game at three.
Fresno State pulled ahead for good in the fifth inning, as Sky Collins' two-run triple brought the crowd to its feet, giving the Bulldogs a 5-3 advantage.
The 'Dogs added two insurance runs in the seventh, courtesy of Collins, who singled to drive in two more.
Cal State Fullerton managed a late push, with an RBI triple in the eighth narrowing the gap to 7-4, but the Bulldogs' bullpen held firm.
Jack Anker earned the win with a strong seven-inning performance, striking out eight, while Cooper Bergman closed out the ninth with three straight strikeouts to secure the save.

Starting pitcher Jack Anker was on the mound for seven innings, tying his career-high set in 2024 against San Diego State.
Cooper Bergman earned his eighth career save by retiring the side in the top of the ninth to secure the Bulldog victory.
Sky Collins went 2-for-3 on the night with four RBIs and a triple.
With 1694 members of the Red Wave in attendance, this was the largest crowd of the year at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium.
