An update on weather-related solid waste collection delays.

The City of Omaha says collections for the normal Thursday and Friday service areas will be picked up on their normal day of collection this week.

FCC Environmental Services will begin with a late start Thursday, so some areas may experience delays.

Residents are asked to leave any carts that aren’t collected at their normal set out location.

Next Monday, a new collection week will begin in the Monday collection area and the B recycling group.

The City and FCC realize missed collections earlier this week will have an impact on households.

FCC will collect reasonable, additional amounts of excess garbage placed in bags and outside of the cart in an organized manner in the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday service areas.

Residents are asked to make sure that bagged material outside of the cart is clearly visible to ensure collection.

Excess recyclables may be taken to a drop-off site, held for a future collection, or bagged as garbage.
