A$AP Rocky is starting fresh. He won his felony assault case from four years ago. He celebrated the not guilty verdict in court. Outside, he celebrated with his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who he called "A$AP Joe."
After facing up to 24 years in prison, family seemed a likely focus. Instead, he teased his long-awaited album on social media.
A$AP Rocky tweeted the album title: "DON'T BE DUMB." No extra info came with it. His fans went wild. They were happy about his freedom, but now, new music may be coming.
"DON'T BE DUMB" is a highly anticipated album. Rocky first mentioned it in 2018, after his last album, TESTING.
He's released singles like "HIGHJACK" and "Ruby Rosary." These featured Jessica Pratt and J. Cole. The songs, including "Tailor Swif," weren't chart-toppers.
Originally, "DON'T BE DUMB" was due August 30, 2024. Rocky then delayed it to the spring. Spring passed with no album. His legal issues likely took priority.
A$AP Rocky seems energized now. He was happy outside the courthouse after the verdict. "Gotta thank God first… thank the jury," he told reporters. "This whole experience has been crazy... but I'm thankful…"
Hopefully, this energy boosts his music. Will we finally hear "DON'T BE DUMB" in 2025?
