MVD is a long respected Ashland sports apparel and sporting goods store. This strategic move adds to the Fin's ongoing commitment to providing the best products and services in the communities where they are located and serve.
The acquisition of MVD Sports and Specialties by Fin Feather Fur Outfitters will create synergies for the business allowing them to have more access to customers, inventory and a huge support team. This partnership will allow Fin Feather Fur to offer a new and more diversified line of products that centers around the silk screening and embroidery of apparel for sports teams, charities, 5k runs, corporate professional wear and more. The MVD team adds an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team that brings comprehensive retail backgrounds.

MVD Sports and Specialties was established in 1974 by previous owners, Mike and Kathy Van Dine. The business began in the basement of their home and as the business began to expand and out grow their space they built a new building in 2000 providing them a much needed expansion. The new structure provided them spaces for their retail, design, printing and embroidery departments.
For many years, the business included their four sons Mike, Mark, Matt and Mitch. Mike will stay on as employee providing knowledge about the business and its operations. Mike Van Dine Sr. said, "While the decision to sell the business was the right move, I am not ready to retire, this has been a hard decision! I will miss the employees and our customers. I am proud of the accomplishments we have made and the hard work we put into making this a great business. MVD Sports and its employees have created a business that focuses on the communities, schools and corporations they serve.” He also added, “Selling our business to the Fin and Mike Goschinski is a good move. Knowing the love and commitment Mike and the Fin family has for their communities, we know that they will continue to improve and grow this business in the coming years.”
