GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - John Gibbs has resurfaced with the Trump administration following his firing from Ottawa County.
Gibbs, according to a social media profile, is now an "assistant secretary" for HUD.
HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research website has him listed as principal deputy assistant secretary.
Gibbs was an assistant secretary for community planning and development during the first Trump administration.
Gibbs was fired as Ottawa County's administrator last February following allegations that he neglected his duties and acted inappropriately. He later sued, claiming he was fired for criticizing the county's lawyer.
A settlement was later reached.
