Humane Society of West Michigan wants pet owners who registered their animals’ microchip through a Texas-based company will have to reregister after it closed suddenly earlier this year.
Save This Life stopped operations in January and was removed from the American Animal Hospital Associations Universal Pet Microchip database on Jan. 24. Because of the closure, animal shelters and local humane societies are now working to reregister pets who had microchips installed from that company.
