A corrections deputy from St. Lucie County is on the wrong side of the law after what authorities describe as a road rage incident.
Two 18-year olds in a car say Deputy Devin Mills abruptly hit the brakes in his SUV Monday night, believing he was being tailgated. He got out and walked to the vehicle.
In cellphone video just released, Mills is seen yelling at the female driver and male passenger and then grabbing the arm of the male through the open window and pulling it out the window.
He did that apparently to grab the cell phone from the passenger's hands.
56-year old Mills is charged with burglary with assault or battery.
The Sheriff's Office has opened an administrative investigation into the incident and Mills is on unpaid leave pending both investigations.
