The Rhode Island Department of Health is unveiling its Rental Registry database this week.
The public database allows current and prospective renters to see whether or not landlords have secured a lead certificate for their properties.
The database is a result of a 2023 law requiring landlords to have lead certificates and have their properties registered.
Rhode Island Health Director Jerry Larkin said the database "promotes transparency, safety, and accountability.
