Igloo has issued a recall for more than one million of its 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to a risk of fingertip amputation and other injuries. The recall affects coolers sold in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with over one million units sold in the U.S. alone. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on Thursday (February 13) following reports of 12 injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.

The hazard stems from the cooler's tow handle, which can pinch users' fingertips against the cooler. The affected coolers were manufactured before January 2024 and sold at major retailers such as Costco, Target, and Amazon from January 2019 to January 2025, priced between $80 and $140. Customers can identify the coolers by the model number and manufacturing date printed on the bottom.

A full list of recalled coolers is available on the CPSC website.

Igloo is offering free replacement handles to affected customers. Consumers are advised to stop using the coolers immediately and contact Igloo for a replacement. Igloo emphasized that consumer safety is a top priority and stated, "Through rigorous testing and proactive steps, we are constantly improving our products to meet the highest safety standards."
