Kendrick Lamar is set to appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World.
On Tuesday, February 11, Entertainment Tonight released its new interview with the new Cap, Anthony Mackie. At the top of their conversation, Mackie reveals that Lamar performs the film's title song "Brave New World." The song is set to drop on Friday, which is the same day the Marvel film debuts in theaters.
"Kendrick did the title song for my movie," Mackie said. "I hope that's not supposed to be a surprise. I'm breaking it here first."
This will be the second time Kendrick Lamar has contributed to a Marvel film. The Compton native and Top Dawg Entertainment spearheaded the official soundtrack for Black Panther in 2018. The project holds songs like "All The Stars" featuring SZA, "King's Dead" with Lamar, Jay Rock & Future, "Pray For Me" featuring The Weeknd and more. The soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was nominated several times at the 2019 Grammy Awards. "King's Dead" won the award for Best Rap Performance.
"Brave New World" is Kendrick Lamar's first song of 2025. It comes after he delivered GNX in October and appeared on SZA's "30 for 30" from her SOS: LANA Deluxe album. He may perform the track during his upcoming "Grand National Tour" with SZA, which begins in April.
Look out for Captain America: Brave New World in theaters on February 14.
