DOJ Sues State Of New York And Top Officials Over Immigration Laws

The Department of Justice, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, announcing on Wednesday that they are suing the State of New York, Governor Kath Hochul, and Attorney General Letitia James over their immigration policies and sanctuary city laws.

Attorney General Bondi said, "New York has chosen to prioritize 'illegal aliens' over American citizens."

She also said this puts any other sanctuary states and cities on notice, and they will prosecute anyone who does not follow the Trump Administration's immigration laws. The suit includes the head of the Department of Motor Vehicles. It also targets New York laws that bar police from asking about immigration status during traffic stops and allowing illegals to get driver's licenses.

The DOJ filed a similar lawsuit recently against the State of Illinois and the city of Chicago over their sanctuary status.
