When his home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, Sean Mount lost everything he owned including his collection of nearly 200 pairs of sneakers. He documented the destruction by posting videos online of himself going through the remains of his collection, initially expecting only his friends would see the footage.
Instead, the videos went viral, reaching over a million viewers and drawing support from the sneaker community. Fellow sneakerheads stepped up to help, donating shoes to replace some of his favorite pairs. Among them, renowned graffiti artist Neckface created a custom pair exclusively for Mount, who was stunned when he unboxed them, saying "These are amazing. Oh, my God."
Although he admits he may never rebuild his collection to its original size, Mount’s grateful for the support and says the experience brought him something even more valuable — a bond with other sneakerheads across the country. “I love how so many people have put in personal notes.
