2 Chainz was one of several artists who was dragged into Kendrick Lamar and Drake's beef after the Grammy award-winner namedropped him on "Not Like Us." Now, Tity Boi is sharing his thoughts about being mentioned on the record
The Atlanta native appeared on The Breakfast Club on Wednesday, February 12, alongside Larry June and The Alchemist. The trio stopped by the morning show to talk about their new joint album Life Is Beautiful. During the conversation, Charlamagne asked 2 Chainz why "he lied" about Drake being good in Atlanta as K.Dot said in the song.
"I just think it was kind of like some word play because Drake and I got a song called 'No Lie,'" 2 Chainz replied. "So when they say he lied i just felt like.. I don't know but I didn't take it as no kinda way. I don't think he was taking a shot at me. I've heard all types of instances where somebody want me to say something back. I just think it was a moment where it was about a line of artists."
2 Chainz said that he "was ok with it" and the line didn't do much to him. He also reminded the people that he received several plaques with Drake thanks to songs like "No Lie" and "All Me."
The Alchemist also spoke about working with Kendrick Lamar. The seasoned producer was the artist responsible for making the beat to Lamar's "Meet The Grahams." Al spoke about the instrumental and confirmed it contains a sample from a gospel song. Although he made the beat, Alchemist emphasized that he aims to remain neutral like Switzerland when it comes to rap beefs.
