KCSO investigates domestic dispute after man found dead, woman injured

LOWELL, Mich. -- A domestic dispute in Lowell has left a man dead and a woman with serious injuries.

Kent County Dispatchers told WOOD Radio on Tuesday morning that the ordeal began late Monday night on West Main Street near Pleasant Avenue with a domestic incident.

Then, just before 4 a.m., a passing ambulance crew noticed an SUV off the roadway near 800 West Main Street.

"They stopped to check the vehicle and found it unoccupied, but observed signs indicating that an occupant may have been injured inside," the Kent County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. "A preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was connected to a domestic disturbance at a nearby residence earlier in the night involving a 25-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man."

The sheriff's Tactical Team was called to the scene and entered the residence to find an injured woman. They also found a man dead inside the home.

"Based on preliminary findings, this appears to be an isolated incident between the two individuals involved; however, the investigation remains ongoing," the KCSO said.

The sheriff's office and Lowell Police Department are investigating what led to the fatal domestic incident, and ask anyone with information, "no matter how small, contact us and report it."

The KCSO can be reached at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
