Polk County, FL - Two men in Polk County were arrested after allegedly attacking deputies, biting a police K-9, and endangering a child by running into traffic, leading to multiple charges, including drug possession and child neglect.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, on February 3rd, deputies responded to a gas station located at 6205 Lake Wilson Road, where they discovered a black 2006 Honda Accord parked at a gas pump.

Inside the vehicle, deputies found 26-year-old Angel Acosta Calduch, 26-year-old Elliot Lugo Trinidad, and a 4-year-old child, all reportedly asleep.

Upon awakening the occupants to check on their well-being, Calduch allegedly attempted to start the vehicle but was prevented by a deputy.

Trinidad then exited the car, and during the ensuing confrontation, both men are accused of attacking and biting the deputies.

At one point, a deputy summoned his K-9 partner, Zorak, for assistance. Calduch allegedly bit Zorak on the ear during the struggle.

Fortunately, Zorak was uninjured, and Calduch was subsequently taken into custody.

Meanwhile, Trinidad reportedly grabbed the child from the car and ran into heavy traffic, causing vehicles to swerve to avoid them.

He was apprehended shortly after, and the child was unharmed.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified following the incident.

Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered drugs, leading to additional charges.

Calduch faces multiple charges, including striking/injuring a police dog, resisting an officer with violence, and possession of cocaine.

Trinidad is charged with neglect/child abuse without bodily harm and possession of cannabis.
