The Rockford Public Schools Board of Education is contemplating a proposal on the future of the district and possible restructuring.
Superintendent Steve Matthews sent a letter to families last week saying they have been reviewing attendance data over the last year and a half.
Matthews says kindergarten enrollment is not keeping pace.
The proposal the district is contemplating would use Parkside Elementary as an early childhood center and shift students to Valley View Elementary.
Some parents are pushing back saying their students have already switched schools three times in three years.
