It was February 10, 1970, when Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill performed together as ZZ Top for the very first time. The gig was held at a Knights of Columbus Hall outside of Houston. The show was booked by a local radio DJ in Beaumont named Al Caldwell. Billy Gibbons recalls "There was one person in the audience, so we bought him a Coke and finished the rest of the show."
