President Donald Trump is ending the high-security designations of a number of Washington insiders, with the latest being the former secretary of defense.
After revoking the security clearance of ex-President Joe Biden on Friday, Mr. Trump on Saturday decided to revoke the clearance of ex-defense secretary Antony Blinken, a very unusual move so soon, just over three weeks after he left office.
But Trump is also revoking the security clearances of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letiicia James.
Both of them have been involved in prosecuting Trump.
It was Ms. James' office that filed a lawsuit on Friday on behalf of 18 states against the Department of Government Efficiency's efforts to view US Department of Treasury digital records.
