President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is immediately revoking security clearances and stopping daily intelligence briefings for former President Joe Biden.
"There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information," Trump said in a post to Truth Social Friday night.
Trump said Biden "could not be trusted" with sensitive information and that he set the precedent himself.
"He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents," Trump wrote.
Special Counsel Robert Hur submitted a report on Biden’s alleged bad memory and poor retention of classified records. Trump noted the Hur report as reasoning for revoking Biden's security clearance.
President Trump has already pulled the security clearances of 51 national security officials who said Hunter Biden’s laptop was "a Russian information operation."
