The Tampa Bay Lightning (30-20-4) defeated the Detroit Red Wings (28-22-5) 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
The Lightning scored four goals in the first period to take control of the game early. Brandon Hagel scored twice and finished with four points - Tampa Bay also got goals from Erik Cernak, Brayden Point and Nick Paul. In the third, Dylan Duke scored his first NHL goal while making his NHL debut for the Lightning.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 34 saves in net in the winning effort.
The Lightning are next in action when they head to Montreal to play the Canadiens on Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is scheduled at 1:00 PM.
