In an action that DOGE chief Elon Musk calls "absolutely insane," a federal judge has ruled that DOGE access to some US Treasury computer systems is temporarily blocked.
The ruling on Saturday came in response to lawsuits announced by New York Attorney General Letitia James and filed by a group 19 state attorneys general claiming Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), even though it's a presidential commission, has no right to access Department of the Treasury files.
Echoing the latest talking points used by Democrats, the lawsuit refers to Musk as the President's “unelected billionaire friend,” with James claiming, without evidence, that the files being searched include those in education and Social Security, in an attempt to cut those programs.
James added, “Musk and DOGE have no authority to access Americans’ private information and some of our country’s most sensitive data.”
In response to the ruling, Musk posted, ""How on Earth are we supposed to stop fraud and waste of taxpayer money without looking at how money is spent?"
The judge's ruling comes just hours after management and budget director Russell Vought took control of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as the Trump revolution continues.
