A Harrisonburg city bus driver has been arrested on felony charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor. Howard W. Feldmeier Jr., a 69-year-old resident of McGaheysville, was taken into custody on January 21 following a grand jury indictment in Rockingham County Circuit Court. He faces four felony charges: two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of object sexual penetration involving a victim under the age of 13.
Court documents indicate the alleged incidents occurred over a decade ago in October 2013. The investigation began after a family member filed a complaint, ultimately leading to Feldmeier's indictment and arrest.
Upon learning of the allegations, the City of Harrisonburg placed Feldmeier on administrative leave. According to city spokesperson Mike Parks, Feldmeier "has not driven a bus since we became aware of those allegations in January."
Feldmeier’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 18, when a plea or trial date will be set. Authorities are continuing to monitor the case as it proceeds through the legal system.
