Tejano Music Awards winner Gabriella Martinez and her father, David, recently took on the CBS game show Raid The Cage and proved they were more than a match for the competition. The pair competed against another father-daughter team on the high-stakes game show, hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mai, and ended up walking away victorious, with over $109,000 in prizes.

The emotional experience was shared by Gabriella on her Instagram, where she wrote: “And just like that… WE BEAT THE CAGE! Go watch my dad and I on @paramountplus on #raidthecage with @mrdamon2 @thejeanniemai. God is good! I’m so proud of my dad for stepping out of his comfort zone and taking on this journey with me. I can’t wait to see where life takes us next!”

Gabriella’s post also thanked the show’s producers, along with the crew members who made the experience unforgettable. “I’m so glad we didn’t disappoint @gigi.chavarria & the entire crew who was on set with us. We appreciated each and every one of you every step of the way. I’ll always hold onto the memories I made while filming this, especially because I got to do it with my best friend,” she shared.

In Raid The Cage, two teams race against time to grab as many prizes as they can from a giant cage. Answering trivia questions correctly adds precious seconds to the clock, giving each team more time to secure their winnings. After three rounds, the team with the highest total prize value takes the win. But it’s not over yet – they then enter the final round to try and “Beat The Cage” for the night’s grand prizes.

Gabriella’s excitement continued in a video shared to social media, where she expressed just how monumental the experience was for her. “I want you guys to watch the episode, but it was an amazing experience. I cannot even believe that we did it. Like, I am shooketh still. Like, I don’t even know what to say. Like, I’m so stoked,” she exclaimed. “I’m so glad my dad was able to come with me and do it with me because we… if y’all don’t know my dad, he is not, he’s not the most outgoing person. So having him do this show was like huge to me, y’all. Like, it was so big.”

The special episode titled “Poppa’s House” can be streamed on Paramount+ and showcases not only the thrills of the game show but the close bond between Gabriella and her father. Raid The Cage airs Wednesdays on CBS at 10pm ET/9pm CT.

Gabriella Martinez, who won Best New Female Artist at the 44th Tejano Music Awards, has been a rising star in the Tejano music scene. Last year, she earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album, further cementing her place as a major force in the genre. Fans of both Raid The Cage and her music won’t want to miss Gabriella and her dad’s memorable moment in the spotlight.
