Former NFL stars Shannon and Sterling Sharpe are set to make history as the first sibling duo to join the league's Hall of Fame.

During the NFL Honors on Thursday (February 6), the league unveiled its 2025 class of inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including Sterling Starpe, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates, and Jared Allen.

The NFL released a video of the inductees finding out that they were selected to be a Hall of Famer. Shannon, who played 14 seasons in the NFL and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011, delivered the historic news to his brother.

Sterling spent all seven years of his NFL career playing at wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. He earned three first-team All-Pro honors and was selected for the league's Pro Bowl five times. A neck injury cut Sterling's career short. The star receiver caught a league-high 18 touchdowns during his final season in 1994.

In a social media post, the NFL shared Shannon's 2011 Hall of Fame acceptance speech, during which he acknowledged that Sterling was the better athlete of the sibling pair.

Packers President Mark Murphy also issued a statement, congratulating Sterling on his achievement.

“On behalf of the entire Green Bay Packers organization, I want to congratulate Sterling on his long overdue election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He left an indelible mark as one of the greatest players of his generation while also directly contributing to the revival of the Packers during the 1990s," Murphy said. “We are extremely happy for Sterling and his family and are forever grateful for all that he gave and accomplished with the Packers.”
