Performance Lineup Announced for 5th Annual Premios Tejano Mundial 2025

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The highly anticipated 5th Annual Premios Tejano Mundial, presented by the Academy of Tejano Music, has unveiled its star-studded performance lineup for 2025. The event, which celebrates the best of Tejano music, is set to take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium.

Star-Studded Performers

The performance lineup for the 5th Annual Premios Tejano Mundial promises an unforgettable evening, with celebrated artists from across the Tejano music scene. Performing at the event will be Michael Salgado – celebrating his 30th Anniversary in the industry, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, a special appearances by Stefani Montiel and David Lee Garza, two icons of the Tejano music scene. The next generation of musicians will be showcased with Conjunto El Dorado from San Antonio’s Edison High School, Joanna Rae featuring Tejano legend Raulito NavairaRev RayVanita LeoLili BellaAllie, and Ashley Acosta – all emerging artists who are making waves in the Tejano music world.

Honoring Tejano Music Icon: Johnny Canales

A highlight of the evening will be the posthumous presentation of the Academy of Tejano Music Lifetime Achievement Award to Johnny Canales, the beloved host of The Johnny Canales Show. Known for his groundbreaking role in introducing new musical acts to wide audiences, Canales is considered a cultural icon in the Tejano community. His wife, Nora Canales, will accept the award on his behalf. For many Tejano artists, appearing on his show was a pivotal moment in their careers, cementing Johnny Canales’ legacy as a true pioneer of Tejano music.

Final Five Nominees Revealed

In addition to the exciting performances, the Premios Tejano Mundial 2025 has recently announced the Final Five nominees in the fan-voted categories, as well as those voted on by members of the Academy of Tejano MusicMonica Saldivar leads the pack with a staggering seven nominations, solidifying her place as one of Tejano music’s most prominent voices.

Other notable nominees include Shelly Lares, a Tejano legend who retired from touring but continues to make an impact with six nominations. Rising stars such as Gabriella MartinezEmanuel JAngelica Y Moneda, and Juan Treviño , as well as Tejano icon Stefani Montiel, each garnered three nominations, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of the Tejano music industry.

Winners will be announced at the 5th annual Premios Tejano Mundial on Thursday, February 20, at San Antonio Shrine Auditorium, located at 901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd, San Antonio, Texas. The Red Carpet will kick off at 5 p.m., offering a glamorous introduction to the evening.
