National Bubble Gum Day
(Undated) -- If it's the first Friday of February it means we've made it to the weekend, it also means it's National Bubble Gum Day. The concept of chewing on gum-like substances isn't at all modern, but actual bubble gum didn't pop up on the scene until 1928. That's when a man from Pennsylvania named Walter Diemer, after numerous unsuccessful attempts, finally showed off the first-ever bubble producing gum. The Fleer Chewing Gum Company where he worked was sold on the product and marketed it as "Dubble Bubble." Fun bubble gum fact: The Guinness World Record for the largest bubble blown was set in 2004 by an Alabama man who blew a bubble 20 inches in diameter.
