After 4 years of a wide open border, local Houston Congressman Morgan Luttrell is introducing the CARTEL Act. The goal is simple: to provide more transparency on terrorist activity at the border.
"There were several hundred people that were on the terrorist watch list, and even worse 99 of them after they were stopped, they were released into the United States" said Jonathan Fahey, a former federal prosecutor and former acting ICE Director.
It should be a no-brainer that immigrants on any terror watch list should not only be identified, but also detained. But that was not the case under the Biden-Harris regime.
"If people are coming through on a terrorist watch list we should know about it" Fahey told KTRH, "Certainly now under Donald Trump, the border is so much more secure in just less than 3 weeks. It's a deterrent for anyone that's gonna want to come into our country, knowing that we're on top of it."
President Trump has already designated the cartels as terror organizations, along with violent gangs like Tren de Aragua.
"The American people need to know, are our borders secure? We certainly didn't have them during the Biden administration" noted Fahey.
All of the details of the bill have not yet been released.
