Uninsured motorists are one cause to rising premiums for drivers, so the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is cracking down on them.
A one-day operation this week, in conjunction with police departments in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Lantana as well as state and federal agencies led to 419 traffic stops.
406 of those resulted in traffic citations for no proof of insurance, one misdemeanor arrest and a number of criminal citations.
