A Mississippi man is facing charges in the death of his pregnant ex-girlfriend, who he allegedly kidnapped and shot.
According to PEOPLE, Joshua Demarshall Andrews is facing several charges, including capital murder and possessing a firearm as a felon, after he allegedly abducted his girlfriend, Glynis Jackson, from a Nissan plant in Canton and shot her on January 27. The pregnant mother of three attempted to escape from Andrews' vehicle but was hit by a passing vehicle.
Andrews is also reportedly facing a first-degree murder charge related to Jackson's unborn child.
According to authorities, Andrews had forced Jackson into the vehicle before taking off. He fired several shots at the victim but she died while trying to escape her abductor after she was hit by another vehicle.
“This is a heinous crime that shocks the conscience of society and Andrews will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law," Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said in a statement.
Andrews turned himself in at the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
