MSP asks for witnesses to come forward after head-on crash in Ionia County

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Michigan State Police say a head-on crash in Berlin Township has left a 31-year-old woman from Saranac dead.

Troopers from the 6th District post said she was driving a northbound vehicle on M-66 near Grand River Avenue around 6:30 Wednesday evening. It was struck by a southbound vehicle that crossed over the center line. Her name has not been released yet. State Police say her passengers, a 32-year-old man and 2-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries.

Police say the 27-year-old Portland man who allegedly was driving the vehicle that crossed over the center line was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The crash is still being investigated.
