New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been in legal turmoil for over 4 months now and through it all has remained committed to not stepping down from his current position at city hall. In an effort to avoid jail time Adams has begun to work with Donald Trump and has been down to D.C. three times since Trump’s inauguration. Laura Curran, political commentator and former Nassau County executive, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about Adams and his efforts to cozy up to Donald Trump.
“The man is working hard for this pardon,” Curran tells host Larry Mendte. “Anytime he gets a phone call or a summons he just races right on down there [to D.C.].”
Curran isn’t sure if all of Adams’ efforts for a pardon will ultimately be rewarded: “I don’t know what’s gonna happen; I think he’s doing everything he can, and if they don’t give it to him it would just be so embarrassing, almost cruel.”
