'Dogs prep for Top 10 matchup at home

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 7 Fresno State equestrian team hosts No. 10 Baylor on Friday for a Big 12 matchup at the Student Horse Center. The Bulldogs have won three meets in a row, and look for their second Big 12 win of the season tomorrow.

Parking and admission are free.

Fresno State has won its last three meets.

Three teams sit atop the NCEA list with six wins - Auburn, TCU and Fresno State

Fresno State looks for its second-straight Big 12 win, defeating Oklahoma State on Nov. 22 in the fall finale

Fresno State had two NCEA Riders of the Month in January - Olivia Ferro (fences) and Alana Becker (reining).

Fresno State had three Big 12 Riders of the Month in January - Ferro (fences), Becker (reining) and Yasmin Roman (flat).

Fresno State has won its last six meetings in Fresno against Baylor, dating back to 2017.

Its last loss at home to Baylor was on March 18, 2016.

Fresno State has two remaining home meets this season, this week's meet with Baylor and a March 1 meet vs South Carolina.

Western 'Dogs

Fresno State is 45-36-8 in the western events this season.

The Bulldogs have 23 reining wins and 22 in horsemanship.

Fresno State has earned 10 western MOP honors with six in the horsemanship and four in reining.

Senior Kendra Lee leads the horsemanship group with a 6-2-1 overall record.

Aubrey Gerdes and Abby Goddard each have five wins this season.

Both freshmen who have rode in the horsemanship this season have also earned one MOP on the year - Hailey Olson and Emma Hanson.

Three Bulldogs pace the reiners with five wins - Alana Becker, Shelby Robinette, Adrianna Runzo.

Runzo leads the team with two reining MOPs.

Jumping Seat 'Dogs

Fresno State has a 51-34-3 record in the jumping seat events.

The Bulldogs have 28 fences wins and 23 flat wins.

Against Minnesota Crookston, the jumping seat teams saw a 10-0-0 sweep over the Eagles.

The Bulldogs have earned 13 total jumping seat MOPs with eight in the fences and five in the flat.

Fresno State's only meet without earning the fences MOP so far this season was against No. 6 Georgia in November.

The freshman duo of Paris Mahoney and Paloma Primavera lead the fences group with seven wins.

Mahoney leads the team with three MOPs in the fences.

Mahoney also leads the flat group with six wins and two MOPs.

The freshman has not lost a fences or flat point since Nov. 8 against Georgia. She has won both of her rides in the team's last three meets.

Olivia Ferro has the team's longest winning streak with four-straight fences wins, dating back to Nov. 8. She has two MOPs in that span.

About the Bears

Baylor's only two wins of the season came against Fresno State and South Dakota State.

Baylor kicked off the spring with a 14-3 win over South Dakota State last week.

Baylor is 0-3 in its road meets this season.
