Cole Swindell shared a glimpse of the heartwarming item he found that belongs to his late mother.
Swindell shared a video to thank his fans for listening to his latest single, “Kill A Prayer,” and said “this song obviously makes me think of my mom.” Swindell lost his mother, Carol Rainey Swindell, in September 2021. The country star said at the time he’s “gonna miss her so much.”
Swindell said the last time he was in Georgia, his home state, he was going through some of his mother’s belongings and found a locket necklace that he remembered her wearing “every single day.” Swindell’s wife, Courtney Little Swindell, opened the locket to reveal a sweet photo inside. Swindell said “I don’t even know how old I was” in the childhood photo, “but man, I remember her wearing it every day, and I know she prayed hard for me. I know I’m not the only one out there that had someone praying for them.”
Little Swindell already calls “Kill A Prayer” “one of my favorites.” The heartfelt ballad follows “One Day,” “3 Feet Tall” and “Forever To Me,” which was Swindell’s wedding song when he and his wife got married in June 2024.
Swindell joined the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 3.
