DOES THE GOP EVEN CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE? Rich Guggenheim testified at the Gold Dome about a law change that would allow insurers to hold doctors who cause harm to be held accountable. He isn't at ALL happy with the lackadaisical response by Republicans. He's on at 2:30 to discuss.

AND HERE I THOUGHT WORDS WERE VIOLENCE I've been told by folks on the left that WORDS ARE VIOLENCE so often that it just bounces off me because it's so stupid. But imagine my surprise when the Vice Chair of the Democratic Party in El Paso posted a cute message urging his followers to "choose violence". When asked by local media to explain himself he chose to take to social media to whine about how they didn't ask him about Trump's appointees. They didn't ask because no one cares, sir. This part of his answer seems important:
Rogers says that he then posted the meme, with it using the popular Gen-Z term of "choose violence", typically used to describe someone or something as problematic or causing difficulty, in a playful way.
"It's been referred to in all kinds of like different contexts, but you can't really find any of those circumstances or contexts where it's been referred to with literal violence either," said Rogers.
Hmmm, does he really know that? Considering two left wingers tried to kill then candidate Trump is he sure? I love the breezy way he declares it as "playful way". Don't get me wrong, I don't think this guy was trying to get people to commit violence. But the hypocrisy in these situations is off the charts and I'm rather sick of it. I watched his whining video where he breezily dismisses the death threats that Moms for Liberty has received, I'm guessing from the Left. They never take responsibility for anything. Ever.
THE DEMOCRATS PRICE GOUGING BILL IS A MESS And these bills NEVER actually produce convictions anywhere they exist, but they do create another stupid threat of government interference for businesses. But don't let that stop the Democrats from crafting an anti-gouging bill that gives the appearance they care about prices. If they did, they would repeal the cage-free egg ban and bag tax and delivery tax. LET'S MAKE COLORADO GREAT AGAIN And you should read this column to understand just how badly overregulation is strangling our state. This is another area where Republicans should be leading the conversation. Read this bit:
The sheer number of regulations would be a good place to start. One example cited is the nonmetallic mineral manufacturing sector, which averages about 400 restrictions in most states, but well over 3,000 in Colorado. Other states impose a median of 3,000 regulations on ambulatory health care services, but Colorado has over 9,000. Utilities average 1,300 rules in other states, but 3,300 in Colorado.
Environmental restrictions are often the largest hindrance to business growth, so other states have been reducing them, now down to an average of 30,000 environmental rules in other states. But Colorado has been ratcheting environmental restrictions up, now totaling over 50,000.
This state continues to increase licensing requirements for individuals, too. In the 1950s, about 5% of American workers needed a state license to do their jobs, but today almost 30% do. Government has a role in protecting public health and safety, so we have strict requirements for surgeons and electricians.
But Colorado also requires similar training, certification, registration, and licensing for barbers, bingo managers, manicurists, guides and outfitters, car dealers, tractor dealers, fantasy football operators, boxing promoters, landscapers, and roughly 100 others whose jobs have little to do with public health or safety.

THAT TIME THE BIDEN ADMIN PAID FOR BAD PRESS ON TRUMP Hooboy is this a doozy. If you want to know why Trump set his sites on USAID first, you just need to read this long thread from journalist Michael Shellenberger.
Let me summarize: The House Democrats impeached then President Donald Trump based on reporting by a news organization called Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) that is funded by USAID. The "whistleblower" who brought the "news" to the attention of the House members happened to be a CIA analyst. This part seems to be super important:
OCCRP does not operate like a normal investigative journalism organization in that its goals appear to include interfering in foreign political matters, including elections, aimed at regime change. Sullivan told NDR that his organization had “probably been responsible for five or six countries changing over from one government to another government… and getting prime ministers indicted or thrown out.” As such, it appears that CIA, USAID, and OCCRP were all involved in the impeachment of President Trump in ways similar to the regime change operations that all three organizations engage in abroad. The difference is that it is highly illegal and even treasonous for CIA, USAID, and its contractors and intermediaries, known as “cut-outs,” to interfere in US politics this way.
My takeaway here is that what we saw in the first Trump administration was a soft coup, orchestrated by actors at USAID and the CIA. All of this is treasonous. All of this explains why Trump is doing what he is doing. I've finally subscribed to Michael Shellenberger's news operation and if you've got an extra ten bucks a month you should too. Do that here.
