1,800. That's how many trees the City of Akron plans to plant along city streets in 2025.
The city announced yesterday the focus will be on northern red oak, serviceberry, and sugar maple trees.
Folks can expect to receive a mailer letting them know if their tree lawn has been marked for planting.
Folks can also request a street tree by calling 3-1-1 or making a request on the Akron311 app.
The project is budgeted at $750,000.
